Quick Response Unit (QRU)

The St. Aloisius Medical Center Quick Response Unit (QRU) focuses on our patients receiving early advanced level care.   We have 6 paramedics on staff, one of those Paramedics is in our facility during the day and on call for any emergencies at night.

The paramedic is responsible for providing early advanced care to the communities that we serve.  They respond with the outlying ambulance services to assist in providing the highest level of care to our patients.  When one of the local ambulance services gets dispatched to an emergency, our paramedics would be dispatched at the same time reducing the patients wait for advanced care.  Advanced care includes many of the same invasive and non-invasive treatments (medication administration, intravenous fluids, cardiac monitoring to help diagnose heart attacks, etc.), that a patient would receive in the emergency room.
