Additionally, Cardiac Rehabilitation includes education about heart disease and how to cope with its psychological impact.
  • The program is designed to help recondition and improve the heart muscle’s function and to help the cardiac patient return to an active lifestyle.
  • A cardiac rehab facilitator provides your physician with information about your recovery by monitoring your vital signs, symptoms, exercise, and activity responses.
  • Family members are encouraged to accompany the patient to the rehab sessions. Patient must have a physician’s order.
Stress Tests

Afterward, the patient can remove the patch themself and send it in the postage paid packaging to the ZIO Patch company to read the results.  The test results will be sent to the patients provider.
Cardiac Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine uses small amounts of radioactive materials called radiotracers to evaluate the heart for coronary artery disease and cardiomyopathy. The radiotracers are typically injected into the bloodstream, inhaled or swallowed, travel through the area being examined, and gives off energy in the form of gamma rays. The gamma rays are detected by a special camera and a computer to create images of the inside of your body.

Uses
  • Evaluate the heart for coronary artery disease and cardiomyopathy
  • Determine if the heart has been damaged by chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
Risks
  • If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, your doctor may recommend another type of exam

Ophthalmology

Ophthalmology (or cataract surgery) is used to restore a patient’s vision by surgically removing the clouded eye lens, sometimes replacing it with an artificial lens.

Recovery

The patient typically can return home (with a chauffeur) the same day after the procedure, and after a few days, the patient’s vision will improve. It’s normal to experience itching and mild discomfort after surgery.
